The University of Bari “Aldo Moro” (Criminology and Forensic Psychiatry Section of Medical School and Ionian Department of Law School) collaborates with the Dundrum Centre for Forensic Excellence, Ireland, with the Elysium Healthcare International of London, the Italian Society for Psychotherapy and Forensic Rehabilitation (SIPRiFo), and Network MAUL to present the 2nd edition of the International Summer School of Forensic Psychiatry in Taranto.

The Summer School will provide teaching, tutorials and mentoring on site and in person. Participants will be selected from applicants if they can show occurrent involvement in clinical or translational research in forensic psychiatry at early career stage, or if they have undertaken higher training or been newly appointed as a consultant. This Summer School also aims to provide an opportunity for scientific study, training and discussion for forensic psychiatrists, forensic psychologists, health and social health professionals working in forensic contexts and jurists from various European Countries.

English will be the main language of each session, but Italian and other languages will also be prominent.

Forensic psychiatry trainees or psychiatry trainees with a special interest in forensic psychiatry or medico-legal issues and early career consultants are invited to apply. In keeping with the theme of the summer school, those with an interest in research or a track record in clinical research are particularly encouraged to apply.

Participants will be responsible for arranging their own flights to and from the nearest airport (Bari or Brindisi). We can advise on the various transport options from the airport upon your arrival.
